One of the nostalgic cartoons that existed for the children of 1980s and 1990s was the animated Tom and Jerry series where Tom, the cat was repeatedly hit, flattened or blown-up in his ordeal of chasing the troublesome mouse Jerry. Following the animated Tom and Jerry: The Moviewhich came out in 1992, Warner Bros is releasing a live action cum CG hybrid film based on the cartoon which is releasing on April 16, 2021.
Latest on the upcoming Tom & Jerry movie is that actress Chloe Grace Moretz has been roped in to play Kayla, a new employee at a posh hotel where Jerry has turned up and is threatening to ruin a glamorous wedding. Reportedly, Kayla hires Tom to get rid of Jerry but the trio end up teaming together to fight Kayla's villainous boss who turns against the animated characters.
Moretz who is also voicing Wednesday Addams in the upcoming animated film Addams Family, will be one of the live characters with dialogues in the film. As for the Tom and Jerry duo, director Tim Story has maintained that they will remain silent like in the original cartoons.
