In an unexpected video release today, actor Simbu has 'affectionately ordered' his fans to put up cut-outs and flex as much as they want to for his upcoming film Vandha Rajavaathan Varuven.
While this seems like a retraction of sorts (previous video here) from STR who up until now had requested his fans to not indulge in such activities and use the money spent for such instances towards family, the actor has also given an explanation for his 360 degree turn. In a new video statement the actor has said,
"I had released a video earlier requesting fans to not spend money on cut-outs, banners and flex and not indulge in milk drenching...But now I have been accused of doing all this for publicity and pointed out that I do not have that many fans to indulge in such activities...
So I'm rectifying my mistake and requesting those 2-3 fans of mine, infact affectionately ordering them to put up flex, cut-outs and banners like never before.
Do not drench using milk-packets, use barrels of milk.. Because I supposedly do not have anyone and if only my supposed 2-3 fans do this, then it wouldn't be a mistake..So for this Vandha Rajavaathan Varuven release, I expect you fans to take it to the next level.."
While it can be sensed that STR has released this video to prove a point about his fan base, it nevertheless comes across as a little bizarre from someone who has already advocated against the practice of such activities.
