Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal has teamed up with director Priyadarshan for a period film on Kunjali Marakkar titled "Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham".

Recently Kalyani Priyadarshan had announced that she has wrapped up her portions on her father's directorial and now news has it that Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has come on board.

"Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham" is a high budget film and is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Santosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy.

Kunjali Marakkar was the Muslim naval chief of the Samoothri Raja Manavikraman, a Hindu king of Kozhikode in 16th century Kerala. The Marakkars are credited with organizing the first naval defense of the Indian coast.
