Karthi will be teaming up with director Hari after completing Biriyani and All in All Azhagu Raja. The latest we hear is that the film will be an action-packed entertainer. Karthi will be playing the role of a Coimbatore based guy. The film will be entirely shot in Coimbatore. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized. Hari is currently busy wrapping Surya’s ‘Singam 2’.

Baba Sehgal to debut as actor in Tollywood

Popular Indian rapper and singer Baba Sehgal is all set to make his debut as an actor in Tollywood. Baba Sehgal has been approached for a role by director Gunasekhar for his upcoming movie “Rudrama Devi”. Baba Sehgal had tweeted, “I am honoured to be a part of Mr Gunasekhar's big Telugu film Rudhramadevi. Shooting starting soon, costume rehearsal.”

Anushka is playing the lead role as Rani Rudrama Devi and Rana Daggubati will be seen as prince Chalukya Veerabhadra. Music by Maestro Ilayaraja. Gunasekhar is producing and directing this historical movie.

Vishwaroopam 2 for Independence Day?

Kamal Haasan is busy with the sequel of his magnum opus Vishwaroopam. News doing the rounds in Kollywood is that Kamal Haasan is planning to release Vishwaroopam 2 on August 15. The legendary actor is working out the details to release the movie on the targeted date. Vishwaroopam 2 is produced by Aascar Films. Buzz is that the makers are planning to release the film in more than 3000 theatres worldwide.

Studio Green gears up for next release

Studio Green is next set to release the comedy caper Sonna Puriyadhu after Pandiraj's 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga'. Studio Green has acquired the distribution rights of Shiva's 'Sonna Puriyadhu', Suseenthiran's 'Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer' and Vijay Sethupathi's 'Soodhu Kavvum'. The production house has confirmed that their next release would be Sonna Puriyadhu starring Shiva and Vasundra Kashyap directed by debutant Krishnan Jayaraj. 

Thulasi not pairing with Vijayakanth's son

There were earlier reports that Thulasi Nair who made her debut with Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Vijayakanth's youngest son Shanmuga Pandian. Thulasi's sister Karthika has denied the news as rumour in her microblog. She had tweeted, "The recent issue of Anandha vikadan magazine said that Thulasi is acting with Vijaykanth sirs son is false!!"
