Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal will be teaming up with director Priyadarshan for a period film on Kunjali Marakkar. The film has been titled "Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham". The project was announced by Priyadarshan in April. The latest update is that Pranav Mohanlal will be part of the film. He will be making a special appearance and essay the role of young Kunjali Marakkar. The makers have confirmed the news on their official Facebook account.

Pranav Mohanlal made an impressive debut with the movie Aadhi, which hit the theatres in January this year. Pranav Mohanlal has signed his next film where he will be teaming up with director Arun Gopy of Ramaleela fame. Marakkar - Arabikadalinte Simham is likely to be Pranav's third film. 

"Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham" is a high budget film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor, Santosh T Kuruvilla, and CJ Roy. Kunjali Marakkar was the Muslim naval chief of the Samoothri Raja Manavikraman, a Hindu king of Kozhikode in 16th century Kerala. The Marakkars are credited with organising the first naval defense of the Indian coast. The film will go on floors on November 1, 2018.
