Ajith has been waiting to play a full-fledged village-based character in one of his upcoming films. For the past many years, Ajith has been continually spotted essaying city-based characters in all his movies. The latest we hear is Thala is set to essay a village centric role in his next film to be directed by Siruthai Siva. The story is a rural-based script which would be shot in southern parts of Tamil Nadu. The untitled flick will go on floors in April. Tamanna will play the female lead.

Ajith has started shooting in Mumbai today for his upcoming film 'Valai' directed by Vishnuvaradhan. The film is expected to be wrapped soon.

'Theeya Vela Seiyyanum Kumaru' is an upcoming comedy caper directed by Sundar C starring  Siddharth, Hansika, Santhanam and Ganesh Venkatraman in the lead roles. The film shooting is progressing in a brisk pace. The team is currently shooting a song sequence with the lead pair Hansika and Siddharth. The team will also leave to Japan next month to shoot two songs.

Dhananjayan of UTV has tweeted,"First look of TVSK almost cleared by Sundar C sir. Will unveil this week. Very interesting designs on the way" The film is produced by Khusboo Sundar jointly with UTV. TVSK is slated for a May release.

Powerstar in Rama Narayanan's film

Powerstar has been flooded with offers post the success of Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya. He has been roped in to play the lead in Rama Narayanan's next film titled 'Naan Sarakku Nee Oorugaai'. Vishnupriyan and newcomer Nakshatra also play the lead roles in this comedy film.

Taapsee's next release in Tamil

Maranthen Mannithen is a Tamil Telugu bilingual film starring Aadi, Taapsee, Lakshmi Manchu in lead roles. The Telugu version Gundello Godari hit the screens on March 8 in AP. The Tamil version is slated for a release on March 22.  The film is set in the backdrop of 1986 Godavari river floods. Directed by Kumar Nagendra, music has been scored by Ilayaraja. Lakshmi Manchu has produced the film.

Karuppampatti release postponed

'Karuppampatti' starring Ajmal, Aparnaa Bajpai and Archana is directed by Prabhu Raja Cholan. Music by Kannan. The film was initially set to hit the screens on March 15. The film release has now been postponed to March 22. Checkout the official video of Karuppampatti song from the film!
