Madras Talkies Press Release regarding Kadal issue

Kadal directed and produced by Mani Ratnam failed to create waves at the Box Office. The distributors of Kadal have asked Mani Ratnam to compensate for the heavy losses incurred.  On Saturday, some of the distributors of the film protested before Mani’s Madras Talkies office demanding a compensation for their loss. Following the distributors demand, Madras Talkies has come out with an official press release.

"Madras Talkies had sold their film 'Kadal' (both Tamil and dubbed Telugu version) to Gemini Industries and Imaging Ltd in March 2012 itself on MG (Minimum Guarantee) basis," a statement from the production house Madras Talkies said.

"Madras Talkies has had no other dealing with anyone else for the distribution of their film, nor has been party to any contracts Gemini might have entered into in this regard," the statement added.

Udaya joins Thalaivaa

Actor Udaya who failed to make a mark in Kollywood as a hero has been roped in Vijay's 'Thalaivaa'. The actor who happens to be director A. L. Vijay's brother has joined the team in Mumbai for shoot. The details about his role in the film is not known. Amala Paul plays the female lead. Music by G. V. Prakash.

Neetu shoots for Settai song

That Neetu Chandra will be shooting for 'Laila Oh Laila' song from Settai is a known news. The song shooting has commenced today in a huge set erected for the song. The lead pair Arya, Premgi and Santhanam will also feature in the song choreographed by Kalyan master. Directed by Kannan, the film is produced by UTV. Music by Thaman.

Anurag Kashyap to release Paradesi in North India

Anurag Kashyap heaped praises on Bala’s ‘Paradesi’ after watching the film at a private screening. Kashyap, who has directed films like ‘Black Friday’, ‘Dev D’, ‘Gulaal’ and ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, had tweeted after watching Paradesi, “Just saw Bala’s ‘Paradesi’. Absolutely blown by it. His best yet,”

Anurag Kashyap wants to release the film `Paradesi` with English and Hindi subtitles in central and north India through his company Phantom Films Pvt Ltd. The film set in the pre-independence era revolves around the lives of tea plantation workers.

The film stars Adharvaa, Vedhika and Dhansika in lead roles. G.V. Prakash Kumar has scored the music. The film was slated for a release in February but now the release has been pushed to March. The release date is yet to be announced officially.

Parthiban's new film title

Actor-director Parthiban is all set to direct a new film which will feature many newcomers. Known for doing things in a different way, R Parthiban is at it again. He has titled his film 'Kadhai, Thiraikadhai, Vasanam, Iyakkam'. The film title is very unique and seems like the director cautiously chose the title to avoid any controversy as is the case with some films in Kollywood of late.

The Attacks of 26/11 Promo

'The Attacks of 26/11' is an upcoming crime-thriller film, based on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the movie has Nana Patekar and Sanjeev Jaiswal in the lead roles. The movie is slated for release on March 1.
