The Tamil remake of Telugu super-hit Arjun Reddy featuring Dhruv Vikram and titled Varma is gearing up to begin shooting by February, 2018 and as a latest addition, team Varma has added Raju Murugan, director of National award-winning film, Joker. However, the director will be seen writing dialogues for the film while Bala takes care of the direction. Varma will be Raju Murugan's fifth film as a dialogue-writer post Mariyappan Thangavelu biopic, Thozha and his own directorials Cuckoo and Joker.
Varma will see Vikram's son Dhruv debuting as a hot-headed alcoholic medical student. The movie will be produced by E4 Entertainment with M. Sukumar handling the camera.
