Kamal Haasan to meet Muslim leaders today

Yesterday, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa defended the ban on the film Vishwaroopam and had said her decision was based on the need to prevent violence and maintain law and order in the state. “The decks will be cleared for the film's release if Kamal Haasan and leaders of Muslim organisations sit together and work out an amicable solution. The government will facilitate that," the chief minister said.

“I thank the Chief Minister.  I am grateful to her. She has been kind enough to offer her help” Kamal Hassan said at a press conference in Mumbai after the premiere of the Hindi version of the film. "She is an artist, she has understood, she has come forward. I am grateful,” he said.

Actor Kamal Haasan is likely to meet soon with the Muslim leaders in the presence of TN goverment officials to work out a solution to lift the ban imposed on his film Vishwaroopam. Kamal Haasan and Muslim leaders will meet to decide what cuts should be made to the film so that theatres could screen it in Tamil Nadu.

The Hindi version Vishwaroop has hit the screens today. The film is releasing in 1035 screens across the country.
