The producers of Vijay's last film, Thenandal Studios Limited (TSL) had given out another hint (following Hema Rukmani's earlier mention in an interview) of a sequel to their blockbuster release of the year Mersal, that has almost went unnoticed. The official Instagram handle of the banner, conducted a poll as to how many were in favour of Mersal 2, which as expected has received a tremendous response from the viewers. (The poll featured in their story section of the app, which disappears in  24 hours after upload).

  
Given that Vijay's immediate next is with A.R. Murugadoss which plans to release by Diwali 2018, Mersal 2 seems like a far fetched idea. However, the idea of a sequel to this much-in-the-limelight film definitely sounds exciting.
