Talvar makers Vishal Bhardwaj, Meghna Gulzar happy with Aarushi Talwar murder case verdict

The infamous 2008 Noida double murder case involving 14-year old Aarushi Talwar and her domestic help Hemraj Banjade had a verdict read last evening in the Allahabad High Court. In the verdict, Rajesh Talwar and his wife Nupur Talwar, imprisoned parents of the deceased 14-year old victim were acquitted on grounds of insufficient evidence.

Following this, makers of 2015's Irfan Khan starrer Talvar, a movie based on this real incident expressed their pleasure on the doctor couple getting acquitted. Meghna Gulzar, director of the film was quoted as saying :
“I feel extreme relief and gratitude. Truth has prevailed. The loss is irreparable but I am happy that truth prevailed.”"

The official statement from Vishal Bhardwaj, the bold producer of such a controversial subjected film read:

"We were questioned by a lot of people when we made Talvar even though we didn’t take any sides in presenting the story and maintained as neutral a viewpoint as possible. I am overwhelmed and relieved to hear of the Talwars’ acquittal and this strengthens my faith in the Indian judicial system. However, it still pains me when I think about the precious years lost in prison and the emotional trauma that the parents had to go through, so much so that they couldn’t even mourn their own daughter’s demise."
