Velayudham Promotions - Are they working?
Velayudham has evoked intense passion and energized Vijay's fan base like never seen before. This is not a surprise given its importance for Vijay and his fans. So far, Vijay has been single-handedly carrying Velayudham with his mass appeal and support from loyal fan base.
Fans are ready to blast-off
There are a number of exceptional events during the last few months that the Velayudham team is failing to recognize the reason as to why it is happening,
- Madurai witnessed unprecedented crowd for the music audio release of Velayudham.
- Bangalore neighborhood saw the outburst of tens of thousands of ardent fans as local media folks were left stunned by the response.
- Vijay fans are fighting a long battle on social media platforms while they were kept in the dark about the release date (one popular supporting actress was seen giving lengthy lectures advising a group of passionate fans on twitter).
- Ubisoft and Assassin Creed's facebook pages have become the new battleground for anti-Vijay fans. Many anti-fans are seen campaigning to sign the petitions seeking the ban of Velayudham. Vijay fans are valiantly fighting the battle to keep the detractors at defense.
Unfortunately, Vijay fans are not being heard...
Fans have clearly signaled that this movie requires a grass root level promotions engaging the fan base. But, the PR team seem to be totally oblivious and out of touch with reality.
- Velayudham Production team showed signs of incompetence when they could not come up with a release date until early this week. Any excuse is unacceptable especially given what the fans have to go through before Kaavalan release.
- Even now, the Velayudham team is unable to finalize the actual release date and still unsure whether to release on either 25th or 26th. Totally dysfunctional in a world when movie release dates are announced a year in advance!
- When 7am Arivu producer was busy signing the contracts with the theater owners, Velayudham producers were caught napping and now they are scrambling to get at least 60% of good screens that are available.
- Many fans openly admitted that the repeated requests to campaign for the ruling party in the just concluded elections had irked a number of fans who thought it was not in sync with what fans deem important.
By the end of the day, Velayudham team has done a poor job during every step of the way. Despite all odds if the movie makes an impression in the Diwali race, the entire credit would go to Vijay's loyal fans.
