NEP faces Censor today

NEP faces Censor today

Gautham Menon's most awaited film 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' starring Jiiva and Samantha is gearing up for release this month. The film is facing the censor today. The first copy of the film was apparently watched by Gautham Menon, Ilayaraja and producer Elred Kumar. Ilayaraja, who has scored music seems to have been impressed with the film and had praised the director. The film is set to hit the screens on December 14.

Shankar and Simbu to launch audio

The ace director and actor are chief guests for the audio launch of 'Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya'(KLTA). The audio of KLTA will be released on December 9 and the film is likely to hit the screens on December 21. The film marks the maiden production venture of Santhanam. Santhanam, Powerstar Sreenivasan, Sethu and Vishakha play the lead roles in this comedy entertainer directed by Manikandan. Music has been scored by Thaman.

DSP begins work on Ajith's film

Ajith is set to start shooting for his next untitled flick to be directed by Siruthai Siva. Tamanna will be playing the female lead. Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music and has started work on his film after a formal pooja in his studio yesterday. The film is produced by Vijaya Vauhini Studios. The film is likely to go on floors from December 10. 

Santhanam in S.S. Rajamouli’s remake film

Santhanam who is ruling the roost in K-Town has been signed to play the lead role in Tamil remake of Tollywood film ‘Maryada Ramanna’ directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The film is to be directed by Kannan who is currently busy with Settai (Delhi Belly remake). Maryada Ramanna was recently made in Hindi as Son of Sardar starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.

Jiiva in Dhanush's film?

Dhanush's Bollywood debut film 'Raanjhnaa' is also being made in Tamil. Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor play the lead roles in Raanjhnaa directed by Anand L Rai. Abhay Deol plays a key role in the film. The makers are planning to rope in Jiiva for Abhay's role in the Tamil version. Jiiva who is quite busy with his many spin-offs is said to have been approached but is yet to take the final call.

Vairamuthu to turn a screenplay writer

Legendary lyricist Vairamuthu, who has penned lyrics for thousands of songs, is all set to turn a screenplay and dialogue writer. His novel 'Thanneer Desam' will soon be made into a film and he will be writing the screenplay and dialogues for the film. Apart from that, he will also pen the lyrics for the songs.

The movie will be directed by Shivan and it will be produced by a Malaysian based production company 'Red Earth Movies'. The movie will go on floors in January 2013.

Samar gears up for audio launch

The audio of 'Samar' starring Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina will be launched tomorrow  (Dec 4). The movie is directed by Thiru and music has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Samar is touted to be an action-adventure film and Vishal will be donning the role of a forest trekker. Samar is set to release this month. The makers are planning to release the film on December 21. Bala's Paradesi and Santhanam's Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya are also releasing on the same day.
