Vijay is a happy man basking in the success of his recent release Thuppakki. Ilayathalpathy is all set to begin work on his next film to be directed by A.L. Vijay. Amala Paul plays the female lead in this mass action entertainer. The film had a formal pooja today and will start rolling soon.

Amala Paul has tweeted, "Just done with the pooja of my upcoming untitled film with Director Vijay-Vijay and team. Wish us luck and prayers!" Music is scored by G.V. Prakash.

Lakshmi Manchu does an item song in Kadal

Mani Ratnam's most awaited film Kadal has been wrapped and the post production work is in progress. The film stars Gautham Karthik, Thulasi, Aravindsamy, Arjun and Lakshmi Manchu. Lakshmi Manchu plays a key role as a rural belle with negative shades. Lakshmi Manchu who is busy with her own production 'Maranthen Mannithen' (Telugu Gundello Godari) had agreed to do the role as she is a big fan of the maverick director. Lakshmi is said to have danced for an item song in the film and the song is expected to click with the audience. 

A.R. Rahman has scored the music. The film has seven tracks. The recently aired 'Nenjikulle' song is already creating waves. The audio is expected to be released soon.
