Shankar's swift crisis management saves 2.0

After a tussle between the crew members and press photographers at the sets of Shankar - Rajinikanth's 2.0 yesterday, the journalists moved to police station seeking an action against the crew members. Following this, director Shankar immediately met the press and apologized to them, and he also assured such incidents will never happen again.

Timely apology

Shankar didn't wait for the issue to be blown out of proportion by the press and the people. He immediately swung into action and apologized without any delay, thereby making sure that 2.0 doesn't get into the bad books of the journalists.

Taking up a responsibility

Shankar could have easily passed on the responsibility to the production house (LYCA) to sort out the issue as he was not directly involved in it. However, being the responsible and professional person that he is, Shankar chose to clear the air himself without any ego, which is praiseworthy.

Shankar has the sharpest business acumen in Indian movie industry

Popular brands like Maggi and Coca Cola took weeks to respond to their respective crises, which created a huge dent in their credibility amongst people and media. However, Shankar's straightforward and swift approach to face and resolve a crisis needs to be commended.

From a business perspective, 2.0, a Rs 400+ Crore budget film, getting into a crisis can affect its market in a big way. However, Shankar's prompt apology has set things right and goes to show that he has the sharpest business acumen in Indian movie industry.
