Kumki directed by Prabhu Solomon is one of the most expected film starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles. The film is a love story taken at the backdrop of the evergreen forests with elephants. The post production work of the film is in progress. Currently the graphics work is happening in full swing.

The climax scene of the film where two elephants fight over each other required lot of graphics and special effects. The graphics related work may take some time to complete as the director wants the final output to be perfect. Studio Green has acquired the theatrical rights and the release date of the film is yet to be announced. Imman has scored the music.

Jai to romance newbie

Jai is next set to work in a bilingual film titled 'Thirumanan Ennum Nikkah'. The film is directed by Anish, a former assistant of Nasser. Newcomer Nazaria will debut as female lead in the film. Jai and Nazaria play IT professionals in this romantic entertainer. The film shooting is currently in progress. Music will be scored by Ghibran. Jai's other projects include Vettaimannan and Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum.

Karthik's younger son ready for debut?

That Karthik's elder son Gautham is making his debut as hero in Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' is old news. The latest we hear is Karthik's younger son Gyain is all ready to make his debut. Actor-director Cheran will be launching Karthik's son in an untitled flick. The story is a city based script revolving around the youth of today. Cheran who has penned the story would be producing the film which is to be directed by one of his assistants. 

Kanchana in 3D

Kanchana starring Ragava Lawrence, Lakshmi Rai, Sarathkumar is set to be released again in 3D. The comedy horror flick released in 2011, was a sequel to Muni (2007). The film turned out to be a hit and Lawrence is planning to come up with the third installment of the movie. 

Tollywood producer Bellamkonda Suresh is keen in releasing the 3D version and has started work on the 3D conversion process. The 3D version is likely to have some additional scenes and a special song. The 3D version is likely to hit the screens next year as the entire process may take more than six months.

Dhanush's 'Mariyaan' update

Dhanush is currently shooting in Varnasi for Anand L Rai's 'Raanjhanaa'. He will then join director Bharath Bala for the final schedule of Mariyaan. The last schedule is likely to begin in mid October and the shooting will take place around Nagercoil and parts of Kerala. The story revolves around the lives of fishermen. Music has been scored by A.R. Rahman. Dhanush is also likely to begin his new project Sotta Vazhakutty with director Sargunam in November.
