Surya's 'Singam 2' began with a formal launch recently. Director Hari who has worked on a different script for the sequel would be canning important scenes in South Africa. After canning a few scenes in Thoothukudy the team will be next leaving to South Africa as the location plays an important role in the story. Major stunt sequences are also to be shot there. 

Director Hari had been to South Africa to finalise the locations for the shoot. Another highlight of the film is that a Nigerian actor who had been part of few Hollywood films has been roped in for a key role. Surya, Anuska and Hansika play the lead roles. Music by Devi Sri Prasad.

Vikram's action entertainer 'Thaandavam' is set to release on September 28. The telugu version 'Siva Thaandavam' will not release simultaneously on the same date. There has been some dubbing issues following which the release date of the film has been postponed by a week. The Telugu version ran into trouble when couple of producers had issues with producer C Kalyan's claim that 'Siva Thaandavam' is a straight Telugu film. The censor formalities have been delayed as the Board will have to decide whether the film is a straight film or a dubbed film. The film is likely to hit the screens on October 4. 

On the other hand, UTV is gearing up for the release of Thaandavam on September 28. The production house will be distributing the film in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
