Jayaram to Star in the Malayalam remake of Samuthirakani's Appa

Kollywood's 2016 release Appa which was written, directed and produced by Samuthirakani (featured in this year's Indian Oscar entryVisaranai) is all set to be remade in Malayalam. The Malayalam version of the film which is about parenthood and the nuances involved in raising children is currently being scripted by Samuthirakani along with Padma Kumar. Actors Jayaram and Asha Sharath have been signed on for the movie so far. Along with scripting, the team is also in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast. 

Shooting of this movie is expected to begin by the end of November. Samuthirakani who had produced and acted in the Tamil version will be doing the same for the Malayalam edition as well.
