Karthi's 'Biriyani' to kickstart this month
Venkat Prabhu's upcoming film 'Biriyani' starring Karthi, Richa and Premgi Amaren is one of the most expected film. The film is set to go on floors by the end of this month. Venkat Prabhu has fine tuned his script and pre-production work of the film is in progress. Yuvan scores the music and Biriyani's marks his 100th film. Yuvan has started composing tunes for Biriyani. The details regarding the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. Film is produced by Studio Green

Mani Ratnam happy with 'Kadal'
Kadal is one of the most anticipated film directed by Mani Ratnam starring Gautham and Thulasi in lead roles. Kadal is a love story set against the backdrop of the sea. The film is inching towards completion as only few more days of shoot is pending. The director who saw the rushes of the film shot so far is happy with the output and the performance of the lead stars. A. R. Rahman scores the music and the audio of the film is most awaited.
Dhanush updates on Mariyaan and Raanjhnaa
Mariyaan starring Dhanush and Paravathy Menon ('Poo' fame) is directed by Bharath Bala. Dhanush who is currently shooting in Varanasi for 'Raanjhnaa' has updated about Mariyaan and Raanjhnaa in his microblog. He has said, "Mariyaan final schedule will resume from October. Rahman sir has given us brilliant songs and I'm in love with them. Can't wait for the audio." A.R. Rahman is scoring music for Dhanush's film for the first time and the audio is most awaited.
Raanjhnaa is Dhanush's Bollywood debut film where he pairs opposite Sonam Kapoor. Anand L Rai wields the megaphone. Interestingly Rahman scores the music for Raanjhnaa too. About Raanjhnaa he has tweeted, "Raanjhana is 15 percent through. Its a new experience. A superb team. Anand sir is a lovely human being. Enjoying Kaasi every bit."
Sanjay Dutt as transgender in Kanchana remake?
Kanchana a comedy horror film directed by Lawrence turned out to be a hit in Tamil and Telugu. Sarathkumar who played a transgender received critical acclaim for his performance. Bollywood film makers were keen in remaking the film following its success. Sanjay Dutt seems to be interested in performing the role of Sarathkumar as transgender.
Lawrence after the success of Muni and Kanchana is planning to direct the third installment of the series. Regarding the Hindi remake the director as said that big production houses from Bollywood are negotiating with him for remake rights. The director is yet to make a final call.
Making of 'Oru Paadhi Kadhavu' song from Thandavam
Thandavam starring Vikram, Jagapathi Babu, Anushka, Amy Jackson and Santhanam directed by A.L. Vijay is gearing up for the release on September 28.
