Director Jayam Raja ever since his directorial debut has been only making remakes of successful films. The director has directed 6 films in Tamil so far, the last one being Velayudham with Vijay. The director is yet to begin his next film since Velayudham. This time he chooses to break the norm and direct a straight film instead of a remake. He has been busy penning the script for his next venture. 

The film touted to be an action thriller will be a bilingual made in Tamil and Telugu. The cast and crew are yet to be finalized. Jayam Ravi, Arya or Jiiva are his choices for the lead role in Tamil.

Thupakki film which earlier faced trouble with the First Look poster had recently landed in a controvery over the title issue. Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles directed by A.R. Murugadoss is one of the most awaited films this year. The makers of ‘Kalla Thuppakki’ have filed a case against Vijay’s film stating that the title is very similar and might lead to confusion among the audience. The court, which heard the case, has given its verdict in favour of Kalla Thuppakki team, banning the makers from using the name Thuppakki. The hearing for the case which was scheduled for July 16 has now been postponed to July 19.

The makers who were planning to release the teaser of the film in the first week of July had to postpone it. The director is waiting for the title issue to get resolved to release the teaser. Though no particular date has been specified for the release, the producer of the film Kalaipuli S. Thanu is keen on getting the film out for Diwali.
