Suriya completes Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi 

Suriya completed his shooting commitments for Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi (NVOK) this weekend. Suriya was reported to have gotten Rs 50 lakhs per show. The makers of Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi completed the shooting of 40 episodes shelling out Rs 20 crore to the actor as the remuneration. The Star Vijay team thanked Suriya for his commitment during the ups and downs since the inaugural episode on February 27, 2012. Since the contract with Vijay TV involved no re-runs of the episodes, most of the NVOK episodes are available on the YouTube.

Highlights of NVOK

NVOK hit 2 major high points. One during Shruthi Haasan's show when Kamal Haasan came on "Phone-a-friend" answered the question without listening to the options. Ulaganayagan impressed everybody by sprinkling his insights during the brief call. Suriya goes through ups and downs in NVOK

Suriya being a hard worker and quick learner took the negative talks in his strides made tremendous improvements during the last 6 months. Suriya in his own words said “The TV audience is six times more than that for cinema. NVOK will show my viewers the real me and not as any character I usually portray in films. The show will give me a chance to tell them that I am as down-to-earth as they are. I think it will give me a totally different image that will help me in my career as an actor”. 

Will Suriya play again? 

Producers of this show are extremely happy with the TRP ratings and revenue generated by these shows. No doubt, Star Vijay gained as a result of Suriya's NVOK. The big question is whether Suriya gain more market from NVOK or did he dilute his brand as a result of over-exposure? Please let us know...
