Shruthi Haasan for Yohan?

Vijay and Gautham Menon are set to team up for the first time for 'Yohan' a high action spy thriller. Yohan has undoubtedly joined the list of the most expected movies following its annoucement. Gautham who is equally thrilled about the project is waiting to begin the journey of Yohan. The film which was expected to go on floors in July couldn't kickstart as both Vijay and Gautham are yet to complete their current projects 'Thuppakki' and 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' respectively. The film is likely to begin in August.

The latest buzz is Shruthi Haasan has been approached to play the female lead and talks are on with the actor. Both Gautham Menon and Shruthi have denied the reports as rumours. The actress has said that nobody had approached her regarding Yohan while Gautham is yet to lookout for the heroine. The film will be made like an international film and Gautham Menon is planning this as a franchise on the lines of the James Bond series once the character of 'Yohan' is established.

OKOK gets ready for Tollywood

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi which marks the debut of Udayanidhi Stalin directed by Rajesh turned out to be a huge success at the Box Office. The combination of Rajesh and Santhanam who had earlier worked in 'Siva Mansula Sakthi' and 'Boss Engira Baskaran' continued to create waves in this out-and-out comedy entertainer. The makers in Tollywood were opting to remake this film in Telugu based on the response. The latest we hear is the film will be dubbed in Telugu as the female lead Hansika is a popular face in Tollywood and the other aspect being Harris Jayaraj's music.

Singer dons the greasepaint

Singer Shweta Pandit who is happy with the response for her melody number 'Idhayam' from Billa 2 is turning an actor in Vikram's David directed by Bejoy Nambiar of 'Shaitaan' fame. She has been roped to play a key role in the segment featuring Jiiva and Vinay Virmani. Jiiva who plays a musician in David joined the team recently to shoot his portions. Vikram plays the lead role while Tabu and Isha Sharvani plays the female leads.

The film has three stories and all the leads in the stories have the title name 'David'. Jiiva plays one of the David and Shweta Pandit who also plays a musician has a significant role to play in David's life. The singer will be part of the Tamil and Hindi versions and is working hard to get her Tamil accent right.

Vijay's SOI restarts

The shooting of Vijay's maiden production venture 'Sattam Oru Irutarai' which was stalled due to unexpected walk out of leading cast is said to have been resumed. The film directed by debutant Sneha had completed its first schedule and the portions are being reshot with the new hero Thaman and Bindu Madhavi who has replaced Karthika. Reema Sen who plays a crucial role is also part of the reshoot. 

Santhnoo goes for a makeover

Santhnoo who plays the lead in Thangar Bachchan's 'Ammavin Kaipesi' has undergone a complete make over for a particular sequence. The actor is said to have lost 8 kilos in just 18 days for the look which is very crucial for the scene. The film is about the relationship between the mother and son who happen to communicate only through a mobile phone. Iniya plays the female lead.

Gangs of Wasseypur Part II trailer

The first part of Gangs of Wasseypur is already a hit on Box office and the second part will hit the screens in August. While the first part of GOW was more about Sardar Khan (Manoj Bajpayee) and his evil ways, the focus shifts entirely to Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) in part 2 after the Sardar's character makes an exit in the first installment. Gangs of Wasseypur-Part 2 will be a fitting conclusion to this story of vengeance.
