Shankar's second heroine for 'I'
Shankar's next big budget extravaganza 'I' is expected to go on floors from July 15. Vikram, Suresh Gobi and Santhanam are part of the cast. There has not been any official confirmation on the female leads. The romantic thriller is buzzed to have two female leads. Amy Jackson is said to have bagged the lead role which was earlier reported to be played by Samantha.
While everybody is curious to know about the second lead, few sources are debating on Shankar roping in a leading lady from North. News doing the rounds is Pooja Kumar of 'Vishwaroopam' fame is likely to grab the role. The leading lady in Vishwaroopam has been considered for the role. We need to wait for an official announcement from the director.
Shreya as Princess in 'Chandra'
Shreya plays the role of a last generation princess in the Tamil Kannada bilingual 'Chandra'. The film is about the love story of the princess. Kannada actor Prem and Ganesh Venkatraman of 'Unnai Pol Oruvan' fame play the leads. The film is directed by Roopa Iyer. The 'Chandra' team recently had a press meet in Chennai.
Bala's 'Paradesi' is wrapped
Director Bala is said to have wrapped up the shooting of 'Paradesi' starring Atharva, Vedhika and Dhansika in lead roles. The film is inspired by a Malayalam novel 'Eriyum Thanal'. The film which earlier had the novel's title was later changed to 'Paradesi'. Atharva and Vedhika have undergone a complete image makeover for the film which is quite the norm for the leads of Bala's film. The leading characters have put in a lot of hard work to portray their characters. Uma Riyaz plays a significant role. G.V. Prakash scores the music.
Rajni's 'Shivaji' to rock in Tokyo
Superstar's 'Shivaji' is set to create a buzz in Japan. Rajni has a good fan base in Japan and Endhiran which was recently released had an overwhelming response shows the popularity of the star. Shivaji which was released almost 5 years ago is set to be screened in Tokyo Film Festival for 3 days which is likely to happen in September. The leading lady of the film Shreya has been invited to be part of the Film Festival as a special guest.
