The Amazing Spiderman has a record release in India today

The most awaited movie of the year 'The Amazing Spider-Man' is releasing today with a record of more than 1000 prints, which is the highest for a Hollywood film released in India. The Amazing Spider-Man is the fourth installment and reboot of the Spiderman franchise. Indian actor Irrfan Khan appears in a cameo as Dr Rajit Ratha, a close associate of Dr. Curt Connors aka The Lizard.

The movie is releasing in India a week ahead of its US release (July 3). The film will be released  in 3D, 2D and Imax formats and in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The managing director of Sony Pictures India had said that "The fact that Spider-Man is the most consistently successful movie franchise in India combined with an increased audience in dubbed versions, growth of 3D, the pre-U.S. release date and a local connect in the film, has led to biggest release ever in the country.”
