Bengal Tiger Review

Nandi – who kind of scraped through with his previous & torturous Racha, returns after 2 full years, with the Mass Maharaja in the lead – who returns post the underrated Kick II. Tamannah returns post Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga. We follow a man who is eager to become famous.

The movie – from the opening moment itself, establishes the fact that Nandi is going to serve us yet another crap-fest. Only this time – the budget is a bit lower and the runtime is 7 minutes more. And though he does provide a few laughs, at 152 minutes, he delivers Teja for way longer than needed.

Sampath Nandi’s direction is crisp and quick. His story is disastrous while his screenplay is hardly invoking, exciting or interesting – though it runs by smoothly. His dialogues will make you screech. Bheems Cecireleo’s songs are nothing too great either. Chinna’s background score provides the much needed energy. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is the same – flashy and quick with too many pointless slow-motions. Ram-Laxman’s action sequences are the same too – flashy and quick with too many pointless slow-motions.
Ravi Teja leads the entire motion picture single-handedly and while he does bring up a bit with his performance, there is no denying that it is his worst avatar yet. Tamannah is decent. Rashi Khanna is spunky. The supporting cast is the same.

Bengal Tiger is a Rs. 25 crore masala flick where Nandi literally rewrites the entire script of his previous movie and remakes it with the same lead and the very same setting. While Teja’s performance does lift up a few scenes and gives us those bursts of humor here and there, Nandi’s lengthy interpretation of the same actually forces you to want the movie to end.
