Billa 2 - Rumors Galore

 With every passing hour, Billa 2's chances of releasing this Thursday is getting more challenging. It is shocking to see the lack of response from Aascar regarding the release date. This is a very familiar pattern exhibited by Aascar during Velayudham release. Vijay fans were kept in the dark until last few days prior to the release. Now, it is the turn of Ajith fans to go through similar predicament in the hands of Aascar.

Rumors galore as production team loses control of top-down communication

With rumors taking over completely, the people associated with the movie are spending most of the time reacting to the rumors. One rumor that is floating around is "Censor officials ready to give 'U/A' for Billa 2 if the makers make suggested 40 cuts". Another rumor propagated by a well-known PRO Nikil was that "Sources say Billa-2 is planning for recensor to get U/A". While Mankatha co-star Vaibhav Reddy confirmed "Billa2 will be released on 29th June". One of the industry tracker tweeted "A overseas distributor has confirmed film will release on June 22". None of these contradictory claims could be validated with the sources.

Lack of Professionalism 

Until the distribution rights were sold to Aascar, Producer Sunir Kheterpal, ex-investment banker, did an excellent job in bringing corporate style professionalism into Tamil movie industry. It was refreshing to see such level of transparency in Tamil film industry where spreading mis-information is the order of the day. Producer Sunir was appreciated by one-and-all for sharing the distribution sale details for various geographies in a transparent manner. However, things have turned to worse ever since Billa 2 rights changed hands to Aascar.
