Metro is a Tamil film that released in 2016 and its producer Jaya Krishnan recently took Valimai makers to court stating that the storyline of Valimai resembled Metro. Citing copyrights violation, Jaya Krishnan sought a ban on the OTT release of Valimai (scheduled on Zee 5 this March 25) and the Madras High Court recently quashed this petition.

While no preliminary case of copyright infringement had been registered by Jaya Krishnan, director of Valimai H. Vinoth has now said that he plans to file a defamation case for Rs. 10 Cr. against Jaya Krishnan.

H. Vinoth has also stated that he wrote the screenplay of Valimai sourcing news reports on chain snatching and biker gangs, and that the Metro producer's claims tarnishes his image.
