Sarkar creates new record in Chennai city Box-Office!

 

Vijay's Sarkar has created a new record at the Chennai city box-office by breaching the Rs. 2 crore mark in day 1 of its gross collections. The movie has grossed Rs. 2.41 Cr+ and in doing so has become the first ever film in the city to do so.
 
The spot for highest day 1 collections in the city was previously held by Rajinikanth's Kaala that did a Rs. 1.7 Cr (gross). The top 5 list that have the maximum gross collections on day 1 in the city looks something like this now:

  1. Sarkar -  Rs. 2.41 Cr+
  2. Kaala - Rs. 1.76 Cr
  3. Mersal - Rs. 1.52 Cr 
  4. Vivegam - Rs. 1.21 Cr
  5. Kabali -  Rs. 1.12 Cr
