Title trouble for Vijay starrer Mersal

While the teaser of actor Vijay's 61st movie Mersalinches close to 24 hours of release, a development that has shattered many fans has arised at this occasion. Apparently an objection case against the film's title was filed by a producer named Rajendran. According to him, the title Mersal Aayiten was registered by him in 2014 and a film by the same name is currently under progress in his production. 

To this, a team representing Sri Thenandal Films had issued a counter-statement saying that Mersal is made and marketed with a heavy budget and a stay on the name could affect the film's business. However, earlier today a high court hearing has stated that the Atlee directorial cannot be marketed with its current title Mersal, until further hearing on October 3, 2017.
