Not sure if it is the curiosity to know the reason behind Kattappa killing Baahubali or the visual extravaganza or the wholesome cinematic experience, as the film nears it release date, the craze for Baahubali is growing big with the audience. Following the record breaking trailer views online, here is the pre-release status that stands as testimony to the fact that Baahubali 2 the biggest Indian film to release so far.    

 

Record pre release biz


According to the trade pundits, the movie is said to have made a record pre-release business of Rs 500+ crore (including all languages), Which is the highest so far for any indian film. The satellite rights alone have estimated have grossed close to Rs 90-100 crore, slightly shy of Rajinikanth's 2.0's revenue.  

 

Phenomenal Advance booking:


Most of the shows across Tamil Nadu are fast filling. All shows of Sathyam Cinemas, which opened the pre-bookings recently, have been completely sold out for the opening long weekend. In Bangalore, 148 shows have already been sold out. According to distributor Gulshan in UAE, 1,00,000 admissions have been sold already, which is more than what Fast and Furious 8 achieved.

Early Morning Shows:


 

As of now, a benefit show will be happening in Bangalore at 12.30 am on the release day. Apart from that, many theatres are planning to have shows at 4 am. In Calicut, the movie will have shows starting from 6 am. In Tamil Nadu, expect theatres to start screening before sunrise.  

 

Sky-rocketing Ticket Price:


In some theatres in Bangalore, while the regular shows have been priced at Rs 200, the early morning shows have been priced up to Rs. 600. Capitalizing on the buzz, some of the single screens have priced the tickets from Rs 250 to Rs 500 on day 1. In Delhi, PVR Director's Cut theatre has sold its platinum ticket at the price of Rs 2400, the highest so far for any film. However, in TN/Kerala, the tickets have been so far sold at regular pricing.    


Recording breaking online views, record breaking pre-release business, early morning shows, phenomenal advance booking, these are usually associated with the films of Bollywood Khans' and Southern superstar. However, Baahubali 2 is comfortably breaking all the records, one at a time.
