MovieCrow Box Office Report - September 2 to 5

Sasikumar's Kidaari and director Manikandan's Kuttrame Thandanai were the notable releases during the long Vinayaka Chaturthi weekend. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Kidaari

Sasikumar's rural action drama, Kidaari, took a good opening and also received fair to positive reviews from the critics. However, it would be interesting to see if the movie maintains its momentum this week to go on to become a hit.

2. Kuttrame Thandanai

'Kaaka Muttai' fame Manikandan's second film, Kuttrame Thandanai opened to mostly favourable reviews, with the audience and critics appreciating the unflinching efforts of the team. But the movie released across lesser number of screens due to lack of star power and also the occupancy level was middling.

3. Dharmadurai

Vijay Sethupathi is on a dream run as he continues to churn out hits at his will. Seenu Ramasamy's screenplay has also been getting accolades from the movie industry celebrities and critics alike.

Other Movies

Last week's releases including Meendum Oru Kadhal Kadhai sank without a trace, while Joker and Kabali were hanging on to few multiplex screens.

Upcoming week's release

Vikram's Iru Mugan, directed by Anand Shankar, will be hitting the screens on September 9.
