Thoroughly enjoyable entertainer

All said and done, this one's funny
It has an interesting climax though, and some hilarious dialogues. The action sequences are also good, especially the ones involving bikes. Rimmi Sen has done an okay job, but one tends to expect more from her. Everyone's supposedly crazy about her, but she doesn't look hot at all. Worse, her costumes are badly designed.A good performance by Akshay. Like his character Rocky, he rocks. His comic timing is perfect, and he steals the show.Well-choreographed songs are another plus point. Shahid dances well. Akshay's entry song Chakle Chakle is catchy. Overall, the music isn't as exciting though, so the dancing helps tremendously. All said and done, this one's funny. Which is always a good thing.(more)

Pretty hilarious
Well I must say I quite enjoyed the movie even though I was expecting it to be another one of those boring comedies with the same story line. Well the movie is a rip-off of There's Something About Mary. The whole plot and characters are similar. So I give it very low points for originality. But I have to admit, that although the storyline was not original, the jokes fitted into the story were pretty hilarious.Akshay Kumar has returned back to some really good acting after a terrible mess in Garam Masala. Paresh Rawal is well used in this film, along with some pretty good scenes from Sunil Shetty, Johnny Lever and other members of the film.I enjoyed it much much more than Garam Masala, and it really won't be a BIG waste of time if you go watch it. I'd recommend it if you really have the time. It is entertaining.(more)

Akshay Kumar rocks the show
Most of the scenes are loud [they are meant to be in a movie belonging to this genre]. But the good part is that none of them are repetitive with audience looking forward to the next sequence to follow. There is not a single comic scene that one can point out as the mainstay of the enterprise as each of them have been equally treated with a consistent flow throughout. The common factor in each of the scenes is Akshay Kumar who simply eats up anyone on the frame. He is loud, he is unmannered and yet he is immensely likeable. A role that is bound to get him a nomination for all the popular awards.(more)

The film reaches at an all-time high
In fact, the film starts off as a boy-next-door-meets-glam-babe story, but with the introduction of Akshay Kumar in the narrative, the film reaches at an all-time high. The film succeeds in not just making you laugh, but howl as Akshay, Paresh Rawal, Johny Lever and Vijay Raaz bring the house down in Dubai. In fact, at the end of the first hour, what you carry out of the auditorium are moments that'd be difficult to erase for a long, long time.(more)

Brainless entertainer.
it teeters on the right side of brainless and provides a few laughs. Deewane Huye Paagal is a masala potpourri of the entertaining kind the kind that other directors like David Dhawan and Priyadarshan have forgotten how to make. Vikram Bhatt succeeds in stirring the mixture a blend of affectionate masala spoof, action and crazy love triangles with each ingredient balanced in just the right doses. After a lacklustre year of movie drivel, Vikram Bhatt redeems himself by ending the year with a solid yet brainless entertainer.(more)
