A family movie
Waqt is a fine family entertainer with message. The movie is not without blemishes - too many songs, over-dramatization in the second half - yet it moves you. And the credit for this goes partly to director Vipul Shah (for his sensitive handling of the subject) and to the actors (Amitabh and Akki).(more)

Waqt loses the race
The plot adapted from Gujarati stage would make for an engaging two-act play at best but as a three hour long cinematic caper, it's still-born. Watch Waqt if you are a serious AB-Akki fan or have the time to kill. (more)
