The external logic of a star driven, fantasy fed film such as this may not be easy to gulp for many. The internal logic, or the reason you believe it all, depends a lot on the credibility of the headlining performance. Bachchan's irreplaceable, of course. So is Hrithik, India's hardest working, most intense super-star, ever.(more)

Like its original, Agneepath is loud and lengthy revenge sage. And while not as blood-soaked or explicit, it bombards the screen with its escalated, larger-than-life tone, vivid colours and robust imagery. (more)

Go for it

Melodramatic, choir-inducing sentiment, ecstatic. Agneepath is that rare mainstream movie that is written well. Agneepath reinforces the viewers' faith in Bollywood, struggling under an avalanche of southern cartoon violent movies. (more)

An adaptation rather than a remake

Devoid of fluff, the hyperbole toned down, and shorter, Agneepath would have been a far superior film. In its present form, it packs in enough punch to warrant a viewing. How much you enjoy it, though, will be directly proportionate to how much melodrama you can withstand. Old school Hindi film lovers, however, are in for a treat.(more)
