Akshay Kumar, A Miscast, Gives It All He Has
Kesari Chapter 2 has some merits because the actor in question, despite not being the right man for the role, gives it all he has. As history, it is pure Bollywood. It errs on the side of superficiality.(more)

Akshay Kumar leads India's humble roar for apology in important film
'Kesari Chapter 2' is India's letter to the Crown, where each countryman folds their hands, humbly, with fire in their eyes and a bleeding heart under the weight of history - demanding, and not requesting - a simple 'sorry'. A deserving watch by children, families, the young audience, and all those who were born in free India, the film shows that we might have got freedom in 1947, but the fight for honour and justice continues 106 years on.(more)

Akshay Kumar hammers history in this lopsided period piece
It starts with Akshay talking kanoon and Kathakali, but since the makers had to establish a link with Kesari and Akshay's real-life persona, the Malayali advocate's soul song remains unchanged, and we get to hear "Main Mitti Main Mil Jaavan" in the background. Saddled with a sketchily written character, R. Madhavan repeats himself as the genius suffering from jealousy, and Ananya Panday seems to have been dressed up for a period fashion shoot.(more)

Akshay Kumar Roars Like A Tiger In This Riveting Courtroom Revolution And We Are Still Waiting For That Sorry!
Kesari Chapter 2 is not just a film but it is an education and an emotion which should be especially experienced by our younger generation who still dont realize the countless sacrifices which went behind our country getting its Independence. Stories of more unsung heroes like C Sankaran Nair deserves to be told.(more)

Akshay Kumar's towering performance will rightfully anger the Indian in you
Akshay gives it his all in climax of this film, likely his best scene in the entire movie. His commanding screen presence is tapped into very well by director Karan in Kesari Chapter 2. Ananya Panday as budding lawyer Dilreet Gill complements Akshay wonderfully. There's some scope for improvement in the emotional scenes, though. R Madhavan, as advocate Neville McKinley holds his own in front of Akshay.(more)
