Unfunny jokes, CGI avalanche sink Ajay Devgn's creaky comedy

The guys do what they have done in the Dhamaal films: Devgn is busy with the hero bits, leaping off ships and cliffs on rescue missions; Warsi and Jaaferi reprise their loving brother act, which they could do in their sleep; Sanjay Mishra adds a �Bro� to each of his lines for coolth: you get the drift.(more)

Not Enough 'Dhamaal'!

Dhamaal 4 ends by teasing Dhamaal 5, which admittedly isn't quite as frightening as Mastii 4 announcing Mastii 5. But I do hope Indra Kumar finally breaks away from a formula that has now been repeated across three films. Maybe Dhamaal 5 should begin with the characters hunting for something even rarer than pirate treasure: Good comedy writing.(more)

Ajay Devgn struggles in this listless hunt for laughs

The only time it works is when Guddu (Ajay) knocks on the door of his girlfriend, Alina (Esha Gupta), to win over his children, and is welcomed by a couple of ghosts. Then there are fun antics and conversations between Riteish and Anjali, centred on body size, that spark some low-brow humor. Of course, Sanjay Mishra and Javed Jaaferi work overtime to make the slapstick tick, and Ravi gives it all to keep this bloated ship afloat. (more)
