Akshay Kumar in positive, non-fussy film about emotions, valour
Sky Force is a satisfactory film. A paisa vasool entertainer, which has done its homework right. It might not give you an otherworldly experience like other big-budgeted war movies we have seen in the past. It is not your extravagant Mission Impossible or your vehemently zealous Border, but it has enough to keep you engaged. Sky Force appears like a fulfilling journey. A big screen experience that deserves a chance from the audience.(more)

The Jingoism Is Toned Down
The ghus ke marenge kind of belligerent rhetoric is a relatively recent phenomenon on screen. The nationalism of Sky Force is low key -- which is its weakness, as well as its strength -- and it does not manipulate the audience into a pre-decided hate-the-enemy response. This particular episode is significant because Tabby's reckless action changed aviation history, the how is explained at a later point. Akshay Kumar could do this role in his sleep.(more)

Akshay Kumar In A Patchy, Inconsistent Film
Sky Force is patchy, the acting is adequate - Akshay Kumar is obviously the fulcrum around which the rest of the cast revolves - and the quality of the storytelling inconsistent. The film ends on a high note. Moreover, at 125 minutes, it isn't as punishingly long as such action films usually are. But that certainly need not be the only reason why you might want to watch the film and recommend it to friends.(more)

Sky Force creates a fusion of reel and real-life heroism, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Indias Air Force pilots. Offering a portrayal of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, it highlights Indias first retaliatory airstrike.(more)

Veer Pahariya should have been the lead of this film, not Akshay Kumar
The most moving part of the film belongs to neither of these gents: one of their compatriots, to whom a jokey situation is assigned in the beginning, is a reminder of not leaving anyone behind. That should tell you everything about the way things roll in this sky force.(more)
