Sikandar is let down by a weak plot and a tedious narrative
Salman Khan drives the film with his signature star power. He strives to deliver an emotional, action-packed performance, but the sluggish narrative holds him back, while throwing in some over-the-top dialogues like, Ab insaaf ki nahi, inhe saaf karne ki zaroorat hai. Rashmika Mandanna has a few scenes and some songs, but the problem is not that. Overall, she has a strong screen presence but doesnt have much to perform or elevate the scenes she appears in. Vatsan Chakravarthi plays a corrupt cop and fits the role well. The surprise element is Sharman Joshi as Salmans loyal aidehe holds his own opposite the superstar, delivering a restrained and impactful act. The story and the narrative are the biggest letdown of this larger-than-life movie; even if they are trying to draw in die-hard Salman Khan fans, we wish they had taken the action notches higher. A few standout punches and stunts here and there could have probably salvaged this one.(more)

Salman Khan, AR Murugadoss deliver a lacklustre, dull film
After that its all downhill: you are hard put to see any freshness in the lazy, formulaic writing which pits the Raja of Rajkot against arrogant neta (Sathyaraj), complicit cop (Kishore), and their goons, when he is sharing some softer moments with faithful wife (Rashmika Mandanna).(more)

Outdated in every aspect
Sikandar is a poorly written and executed action drama. Its unclear what convinced Salman Khan to take on this project. Though he has a few okay moments, his performance lacks depth, especially in emotional scenes. Rashmika and Kajal have little to do, and Sathyaraj is wholly wasted. With a weak screenplay and an outdated storyline, this film is easily skippable.(more)

One of Salman Khan's weakest films is further hurt by dull story and forgettable Rashmika Mandanna
Salmans dialogues in many of his previous films, apart from his hooksteps, are iconic. Here, in Sikandar, neither of them stands out. The music is weak, and none of the songs leave a mark. Santhosh Narayanans background score works in a couple of places, all of them action sequences. Overall, Sikandar is not the Eidi Salman used to promise to his legion of fans. Atleast bhai pehle samajh mein nahi, lekin dil mein toh aate the. Iss baar voh bhi almost tod diya.(more)
