Nana Patekar's Emotional Drama Is Baghban 2.0 With An Apt Message For Today's Generation!
This film finally shows Utkarsh Sharmas true potential. His performance is easy and fluid, and his eyes speak myriad emotions like the rakish Veeru. If he handles his career well and gets the right opportunities, Utkarsh can become a complete package of a star.(more)

The Nana Patekar-starrer is a plodding affair
When he is allowed to, Patekar still shows the good actor he is. However, Utkarsh Sharma (a pleasant enough actor) finds a way into every frame, and gets to land some flying-in-the-air kicks and make some flying-in-the-air rescues even when both are ridiculously superfluous to the story. And who can blame Anil Sharma? He will make a star out of his son Utkarsh (who has featured in most of Anil Sharmas films) yet. What better way than in this film about truant children?(more)

Nana Patekar shines in an overstretched drama that struggles to deliver
Vanvaas addresses an important subject but leans heavily on a preachy tone to deliver its message. Nana Patekars dialogues, peppered with references to Karl Marx and BR Ambedkar, often veer into excessive moralizing, which can become tiresome. The film is laden with melodrama and feels overstretched, with average songs that fail to leave a mark. However, the cinematography by Kabir Lal beautifully captures the essence of Varanasi.(more)

Nana Patekar, Utkarsh Sharma's film is a dull version of Baghban
Nana Patekars portrayal is underwhelming, as he appears to simply recite his lines without much emotional investment. Ashwini Kalsekars over-the-top acting detracts from the film, while the rest of the cast remains largely forgettable. Moreover, the outdated cinematography and performances make the film feel stuck in the 1980s. Vanvaas is well-intentioned, but it will surely have a tough time, fighting mass entertainers Pushpa 2 and Baby John in theatres(more)
