This revenge drama packs a punch with its terrific performances
The action is raw and real as it can get; be it in the chase sequences or the fights. Mura is another addition to the list of Malayalam movies of recent times that have gone for high-stakes stunts. However, it also makes you question whether so much violence is needed in certain sequences. (more)

Suraj Venjaramoodu's film fails to use its full potential
Suraj Venjaramoodu gives a strong performance here, as usual, though one can detect shades of his previous roles, which slightly detracts from the freshness of his character. Hridhu, Jobin, Anujith, Yedhukrishnan, Vigneshwar and Krish impress in their roles, and their on-screen chemistry elevates the film. Maala Parvathis character is compelling and its refreshing to see a powerful female antagonist, though she never fully owns the role. Kani Kusruti, despite having limited screen time, delivers a polished performance. Fazil Nazers cinematography and Chaman Chakkos editing enhance Muras style, deserving special mention. The song Noolilla Karakkam, sung by actor Sreenath Bhasi, is also memorable and likely to stay with viewers for some time.(more)

A ferocious action drama with a friendship story at the heart of it
Mura provides a good movie-watching experience for those who are more into dynamic action and exciting flicks rather than individual character arcs or the fulfilment of the storyline.(more)

A gritty actioner mired in predictability
Thematically and treatment-wise, Mura seems to be strongly influenced by films like Subramaniapuram, Uriyadi, and even Kammattipaadam, the leads of which are also hotblooded men. But unlike these much-discussed films, Mura fails to push beyond the surface and as a result, limits itself to a generic gangster tale. This is despite the premise having all the potential to explore broader themes.(more)
