Lame Commercial Flick!
A good subject extracted from a solid source material, spoiled to a great extent with unwanted sequences in the first half and unimpressive plot situations in the last hour.(more)

A nostalgic tribute wrapped in mass entertainment
Mr. Bachchan succeeds in delivering entertainment, especially in the first half, but struggles to maintain its momentum in the latter part. Nonetheless, fans of Ravi Teja will find plenty to enjoy in this blend of retro charm and commercial entertainment.(more)

This Harish Shankar, Ravi Teja film is an overdrawn, meandering mess
Mr. Bachchan punctuates the long IT raid with a few more romantic numbers. Perhaps this film is meant to be viewed as a showreel for Bhagyashri Borse or to show how Ravi Teja can dance to retro music as well as dance numbers composed by Mickey J Meyer. The composer also plays up the 80s and 90s mood in his background score. A star cameo towards the fag end peps up the proceedings briefly.(more)

Ravi Teja, Harish Shankar raid our patience in this uninspired remake of Ajay Devgn's Raid
With the title of the remake shifting from the action of the protagonist to the name of the protagonist, of course, we are in for a mass masala ride. But where is the tension? Where are the stakes? Why do we never really worry about what is going to happen to Bachchan or his family? Why bring in unnecessary cameos? Why feed into the stereotype that Telugu cinema needs to have all these decorations? Why reiterate the myth that Telugu audiences would only enjoy a film if certain elements are in place? But what was the most important question of all that crept in my mind when the credits were rolling Why buy the remake rights of a film if you are going to make a film that doesnt resemble the original at all? At all. (more)

Works to an extent
Mr. Bachchan has its moments but caters primarily to mass audiences. Ravi Teja and Jagapathi Babu deliver decent performances, and Bhagyashri Bose adds a touch of glamour, but the second half falls short due to unnecessary comedy and pacing issues. If youre a fan of Raid, the original movie that inspired Mr. Bachchan, its best to temper your expectations.(more)
