Jayaram's thriller begins well but falters in places

The one major gripe would be some of the dialogues. They were too artificial and dramatic that even the experienced people like Jayaram and Mammootty can't do much to tone it down a bit. It falls flat. But that doesn't happen a lot, only in a few places. If the flashback scenes weren't stretched out, the film would have been a bit more crisp and engaging. The music is palatable but it's placement felt a bit abrupt especially because of the situation in a couple of instances, like when the flash back begins. The use of a song in between the narration was executed well, but the beginning took the seriousness out of the situation to an extent. It should be mentioned again that even when the plot was more or less clear and it was evident as to what will be the climax, the how of it still kept everyone guessing and engaged, which is remarkable.(more)

Midhun Manuel Thomas film is mostly a letdown, saved only by a revived Jayaram and You-Know-Who

Abraham Ozler is a step back in terms of the aesthetic and engaging qualities typically found in his movies, even those where he served only as the scriptwriter. Despite the film not being entirely devoid of high points, its overall lacklustre nature outweighs the occasional moments of excellence. Another notable letdown in the movie is Midhun Mukundans music, which fails to captivate at any point. Given that the background music is a crucial element in a thriller, Ozlers soundtrack is notably disappointing.(more)
