Anushka, Naveen's film feels like a warm hug

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has minor flaws. Sidhus parents (played by Thulasi and Murali Sharma) have a small role to play. But, their transformation is quite unconvincing to watch. Similarly, the film does not do away with clichs and is predictable most times. Songs by Radhan and the score by Gopi Sundar elevate the romantic drama to a different level. Cinematographer Nirav Shah and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Raos work complemented the film well. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is a feel-good romantic drama that hits all the right notes. Sometimes, simplicity is all you need when you watch a film. And Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty offers that and much more!(more)

Naveen shines in this rom-com that doesn't always work

Naveen delivers a good performance, the role he plays seems tailor-made for him. He falters in a few emotional scenes but its nothing you cant get over. Anushka looks adorable on-screen and pulls off the role of an independent woman who doesnt like emotional baggage well. Radhans music is okay, with the songs not adding much to the narrative. Hathavidhi is the only number that gels well with the proceedings. Tulsi, who plays Sidhu's mom, is hilarious in some scenes while Murli Sharma, who plays his father, is dependable as ever, especially in the pre-climax. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is a good watch if you cant get enough of sweet, simple rom-coms. But it needed more emotional heft to leave a mark.(more)

A delightful rom-com

The comedy works both ways to highlight a situation and give a new perspective to it, which makes the scenes engrossing. Naveen dominates the proceedings with great timing, excellent dialogue delivery and good screen presence. Anushka delivers a subtle performance. Abhinav Gomatam plays a nice foil to the hero. Murali Sharma and Tulasi are very natural in their roles.(more)

Anushka Shetty, Naveen Polishetty shoulder a simple urban romance with fun moments

Before the final portion explores love and longing, a lot of double entendre is deployed in the name of fun. The final stretch redeems the lack of emotional depth in the earlier portions to an extent. Naveen Polishetty shifts gears with ease when he derives humour from the pathos of his character. Anushka remains all poise and grace with a restrained portrayal. Appreciably, the characters played by Murali Sharma and Tulasi are non-melodramatic and avoid the cliche of how parents with a traditional mindset might react to an unlikely romance. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has its fun moments but offers nothing more.(more)
