Make way for the girls
Saakini Daakinis biggest strengths are its two female leads. Nivetha Thomas is endearing as a fun-loving girl who discovers that she is also made of sterner stuff. Lacks proper thrills
Saakini Daakini is a bad remake of the Korean hit Midnight Runners. The film has scope for drama, emotions, and thrills but all that is marred by the silly narration. Except for the comedy and a thrilling climax, this film has nothing new to offer this weekend. Wait for it to come on OTT.(more)

Despite a valiant effort from Regina and Nivetha, this action comedy crumbles under its own weight
The film, directed by Sudheer Varma, has writing and screenplay by Akshay Poolla, music by Mikey McCleary, cinematography by Richard Prasad, editing by Viplav Nyshadam, art direction by Gandhi Nadikudikar and stunts by Venkat. Though adapted well, this remake of the Korean film Midnight Runners could have been made better. Despite its entertaining first half, the film ends up over ambitious in the second half crumbling under its own weight. But this show of girl power by Regina and Nivetha is a welcome change.(more)
