Has Its Moments But Isn't As Rewarding As It Ought To Have Been
You do get the satirical tone of few scenes. Then there is probably this take on how the middle class probably choke when they actually get to live the life they dreamt of. The anxiousness is probably too much to handle and they probably are better off when they remain low key. Maybe I got this inference completely wrong but that apart, the film falls in between a simple drama and a zany take on an interesting premise. (more)

Anurag Kashyap's demonetisation saga is curiously hesitant and dull
There are a couple of standout scenes such as the one in which Sarita and Sushant fight in bed with their kid lying asleep between them and another involving the couple, a kitchen drain and top-notch sound design by Gautam Nair. The construction of both scenes is vintage Kashyap, as is the mischievous closing song. What is not vintage Kashyap is the lack of clarity and sharpness in what he seems to be saying about demonetisation and achhe din.(more)

A plumbing miracle that loses the plot
There is a stylistic flair to the film's cool background score and sharp editing, both of which seem to insinuate more excitement than the film's plot and direction are capable of.Choked promises more punch that it has the ingredients to deliver. Thus, it disappoints.(more)

Anurag Kashyap demonizes demonetisation in new Netflix film
Choked doesn't have the slapdash appearance of a lot of Kashyap's earlier work; instead it feels positively meticulous in its structure. The importance of music, however, is just as pronounced here as it has ever been in any film that the director has made. Karsh Kale's jazzy, percussion-driven score is sublime. (more)

Anurag Kashyap's 'Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai' finely portrays a middle-class couple's struggle with money and matters of the heart
As 'Choked' opens its doors to a middle-class Maharashtrian set up, it also draws us close to their dreams and aspirations which have perhaps gotten choked by the drudgery of everyday life. (more)

Choked almost manages to be a real depiction of life after demonetisation for a lower middle class household, but ends up being a puzzle in a puddle.
If we begin with the good bits, it gradually dawns on you that he has shown you how lives changed post demonetisation without making any scathing remark. For example, an IT official reveals how many politicians were in the know of this move and had gotten away with it. That shows how the 'masterstroke' had many loopholes. (more)
