Malang is good blend of glam, games and thrills
Though there are two interesting twists in the plot, they aren't as big a surprise as they should have been, which take away from its thrill quotient. The music proves to be one of its strong points, especially the title track, which stays with you even after you leave the theatre. (more)

Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur save a sinking ship
Malang has some great dialogues but there was room for improvement on that front as well. They could have been written more cleverly, to provide certain depth to a story that otherwise feels shallow, despite all its complexities. (more)

Strip the film of its 'style', and it's just an archaic revenge drama
The film is unintentionally funny at points, mildly clever in its second-half and there is a hint of pertinent discussion about encounters and justice within the system but all that is eclipsed by the multitude inane reasoning in the film, that gives you neither sukoon nor mazaa. (more)

Watch Malang if you really must. It rides on the thrill quotient, has some good performances and a good looking pair at its centre but that's about it. The plot ends up looking like a mockery of a subject that needed a better storytelling. (more)
