Style over Substance
Ranarangam is an unsatisfactory gangster drama that focuses more on visuals than the story. Technically superior film with rich production values but it is the content that is totally disappointing.(more)

Routine Gangster war fare
Like every film this film also has plus and minus but it hardly impresses a section of audiences. Director has failed to hook the audiences throughout as it sometime it feels like something is messy. You can give it a try for performances of the actors.(more)

The kind of film that allows you to soak in its mindless beauty much before you realise it's heading in a completely predictable direction.
Ranarangam this weekend if neo-noir films are your choice of poison, especially the ones you can soak in irrespective of the story. Gives this one a chance especially for the way Sharwanand and Kalyani carry off their roles and for the technicians. But don't go looking for a story that will surprise you or even leave you in awe, you will be disappointed. (more)

Slow Paced Crime Drama
Ranarangam is a routine gangster drama which does not have much going it's way. Sharwa leads from the front and the first half has good romance and crime scenes. But the second half is where the film suffers as the lack of conflict point, dull narration and rushed climax makes things a bit difficult for the audience. The film is not that bad but also does not have great drama that keeps you hooked. So, watch it only if you have nothing else to do.(more)

A stylish battlefield
There are good performances from Adarsh Balakrishna, Praveen, Sudarshan, Raja Chembolu, Murali Sharma and Brahmaji. But, what was Kajal Aggarwal doing in this film? She is elegant and that's about it; there's hardly anything in that role.(more)

Sharwanand, Kalyani Priyadarshan's crime drama is predictable and boring
Ranarangam gets quite predictable after a point, but even that pales in comparison to its bigger crime: it is boring. In the world of a crime dramas, that is probably worse than death.(more)

A gangster drama with slick visuals
Ranarangam is a gangster drama that has slick visuals, top-class production values, and some good action blocks but it disappoints on writing and lacks emotional appeal.(more)
