Clicks here and there

Mr. Majnu is a new age romantic drama which has a decent setup. But the lack of emotional connect in the love story takes things down a bit in the second half. The lead pair does well and holds the proceedings to an extent. Novelty wise, there is nothing new in the film but some comedy episodes click here and there and keeps the viewers engaged. All we suggest you keep your expectations in check and go in with the flow of this film which ends as a below average fare this weekend.(more)

Akhil's charisma, Nidhhi's acting and some decent writing makes Mr. Majnu a watchable film.

There is a certain comedy track in the second half that brings references to piracy in cinema. Had there been a commentary about such a serious issue, or relevance to the story, the film would have been far better. Apart from this, Mr. Majnu does have its fair share of problems, but it somehow works to an extent. This is certainly not a bad film, and is a passable entertainer.(more)

Flavourless Rom-com

Mr. Majnu doesn't take any chances whatsoever. It wants to be cute and appealing, but it doesn't do that perfectly either. Here's another garish trick that Atluri uses to turn his common chick magnet into a hero - every time Nikky is confused about what she thinks of Vicky, random characters drop in and get beaten up by him. And with that, Nikky's memories get refreshed and shes ready to fall head over heels in love with him again.(more)
