Dear Comrade is a fairly engaging mix of action and romance powered by the lead chemistry.

Justin Prabhakaran's music and the visuals add more passion to the romantic mood of the film. But one of the issues with Dear Comrade is that the film tries to portray too many themes and plotlines at once (there are subplots involving student politics and another about sexual harassment) and ends up watering down the film's impact. Overall, Dear Comrade is a predictable, yet fairly engaging romantic drama.(more)

Dear Comrade is a film that makes you think, keeps you guessing and plays with your emotions. A good attempt

Although slow and sluggish at times with a slightly below-par climax, Dear Comrade is a good attempt. It's a film that makes you think, keeps you guessing and plays with your emotions. After the film, there's a good chance you'll walk out with your collar up and ready to raise your voice against anything that doesn't sit right with you even if it's just for a while. That's the effect good cinema can have on you. (more)

A multi-hued romantic drama

When the bigger picture emerges, it reinforces the import behind the title. In this story, the Comrade is male. But the idea Bharat Kamma drives home is, irrespective of your gender, be a comrade and shoulder someone who's down and out, giving them courage to fight against injustice.(more)

Fight for what you love

Dear Comrade is not the routine love story which you see on a regular basis. It is filled with emotions and shows how one needs to fight for what they believe in and support their partners no matter what. A realistic love story, superb performances from the lead pair and well narrated social issue are basic assets of the film. The masses will find the viewing a bit difficult because of the length and slow narration but otherwise, this film has all the elements which make up for a decent watch this weekend.(more)

Massy Vijay Deverakonda undoes an important message

Director Bharat Kamma had a solid script in hand, and a relevant one at that. But the second half of Dear Comrade seems incoherent to the point of putting you off. Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's Dear Comrade is about the relationship between two contrasting characters. While the film addresses an important message on sexual harassment, it gets hidden under mass moments. Watch it for the performances.(more)

Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna make this film watchable

Is Dear Comrade the new milestone in Vijay Deverakonda's career? I am afraid not. That doesn't mean it is a bad film. I would take this film any day over three other films that..err.. he did post-Arjun Reddy.(more)
