Ranbir Kapoor film is only sham, no shera

A film like Shamshera thats already so heavy on the theatrics, songs (four tracks in the first half) only derail the narrative from going ahead and make the experience sluggish. The songs in Shamshera are a big letdown. Also, you cant help but notice the attempts to bring in a bit of the KGF and Baahubali feel to the scenes. The scenes with the tribals chained and whipped are too close to the KGF visuals, while Baalis mother's outcry for revenge will ring a bell with moments from the Prabahs film.(more)

Ranbir Kapoor's Period Film Is Thugs Of Hindostan-Level Bad

Much worse than how the film looks is how it feels - an all-out assault on the senses. While on the VFX, one would be hard-pressed to figure out if the birds in the film are a kettle of hawks or a murder of crows. It really doesn't matter because they do not actually stick out in a film that scrapes the very bottom of the barrel with its detailing of the principal props and period components.(more)

With an outdated script and predictable plot SHAMSHERA falters big time.

Shamshera starts well, showing how the Khamerans got trapped and became slaves. Ballis entry sequence and the song Ji Huzoor is entertaining and the same goes for the scene where Balli gifts several items to Sona. The scene where he is given thirty lashes and when he finds out the truth about his father makes for a great watch. His escape sequence is clapworthy and from hereon, one expects the film to get better, especially when he meets fellow Khamerans and starts looting. The intermission point looks rather promising.(more)

To Come Up With Sharamshera After 'Thugs Of Hindostan' Is As Ambitious As KRK Coming With Deshdrohi 2

Have been a die-hard fan of Agneepath, Brothers but this was Karans first attempt at a not-already-established story and its not even completely his fault. His dramatic approach to the story does help to build the required atmosphere but its like visiting Leh-Ladakh in a packed car, makes no sense.(more)
